Lis’n Tell : Live Inclusive Storytelling

Live Inclusive Storytelling is an inspiring framework infused with techniques and strategies to inspire spontaneous communication. The approach is student centred working with the strengths of the individual including both non-verbal and verbal skills.

Core principles include the use of iconic gesture, use of ‘significant objects’, referring to the expert and collaboration in the creation of a shared story.

Core techniques to this approach include: rhythm, role, rhyme, repetition and the use of repeated or familiar routines (rituals).

The Part 1 Lis’n Tell training takes place over two days and provides an opportunity to discover our inner storyteller. Understanding the core principles and techniques can enable us to support the development of language and communication skills with the young people we work with.
